Well winter is definitely making an appearence and the Christmas cupcake orders are rolling in. I have a couple of orders this week for my two favourite flavours: Sticky toffee pudding cupcakes and Malteser crunch cupcakes which have a mallow topping and taste divine.

I made a large lemon meringue pie yesterday for my Mums birthday, it didn’t last long, which I suppose is a good thing really. Mum and I went shopping in the afternoon and had lunch and then a nice tea, which was an indian take-away, followed by the refreshing lemon meringue pie, it was a lovely day of eating overall! These things are important.

Anyway I have lots of paperwork and boring stuff to do but no cupcakes today, although I spent most of last night making sugar decorations for forthcoming orders. So no cake photographs to share but I do have some lovely pictures of my dexter at the beach this morning!

The days seem to be flying by at the moment and the nights are surely drawing in. I am very excited for tomorrows Children In Need bake-sale. I am happily preparing sugar craft witches and pumpkins and ghosts ready to adorn lovely cupcakes. the oven is on and the 100th cupcake is baking!

It is hard to judge how many people will turn up to a craft fair or bake sale so I am hoping we will get it right and won’t be left with too many cupcakes and cakes on our hands. I will also be hoping the rain stays off because this always keeps people in doors, AND WE HAVE CAKES TO SELL!!

I went to a local bargain centre yesterday to get some bits and bobs and I was chuffed they had a display of cake decorating goodies so I replenished my stocks, not that they needed it- I clearly have a hundreds & thousands addiction and may soon have to attend HA.T.A.  – a group for cake decorating junkies 🙂 I also picked up some nice shape cutters from TK Maxx which is great for that kind of thing because they all come over from America. We are mere novices in this country when it comes to cupcake making and the U.S clearly have some amazing stuff.

Bits and Bobs for cupcake heaven!

I also bought Dexter a new toy which we have named ‘spiky’, it is basically a spiky kind of rubber shape which cost £1 from the bargain store and is possibly THE best present he has ever received. So a good day all round, must be off have to make some black star shapes!! Adios amigos!

Spent the whole day (apart from a rainy spell in the woods with the hound) in front of the laptop trying to sort out the text for the website, so time-consuming! I’m getting square eyes now but it’ll all be worth it in the end ( I hope). I took some more nice photos from yesterdays orders which can go on the website and I’m sure will look lovely. I have spent 10 minutes trying to get little Dexter to go out and have a wander in the garden and do anything that might need ‘doing’, but the pup doesn’t like to get his feet wet, he is very precious you know 🙂 I just took some photos of him standing on the patio looking at me in disgust that I even considered making him step on wet concrete!

So basically he stood there for a second or two, looked around, changed his mind & scampered on in again, tskk!

By the way,  I’m just catching up on my masterchef’s and I see the fantastic Free range liquid egg white was featured again last night, good show! click here to read about it and the link below for recipes etc

Where did my Monday go? I only had an extra hour in bed and it’s as if my whole day was stolen. I have managed to get my cupcake orders done but I have done next-to-nothing work on my website design. I was supposed to be forwarding lots of my content to the designer and basically I haven’t. I am having a strangely uninspired day, which just isn’t like me at all. That extra hour in bed was too much, it has ruined my inspiration. Sometimes you have to write off a day and wake up afresh on a new one, rather than trying squeeze some inspiration from somewhere. The website on the whole is looking good. Anyways tomorrow is a new day, I will wake up with lots of ideas for the website (I just know it) and the sun will be shining (I’m trying some positive thinking).

Even Dexter looks fed-up, he has been for his morning walk in the woods, has sampled my new chocolate cupcake recipe and is still looking longingly out the window, maybe he is uninspired too!
